I have noticed that the global LISTS has not been
used in the J6 opengl and correspondingly gsgenlist is more
like the earlier glgenxlist than glgenlist. Also there seems
to be no gsmakelist corresponding to the earlier makelist.
Could you give some brief discussion of the reasoning behind
the change, please? I used makelist extensively in J5, so is

-----------------

The original opengl utils did all opengl drawing through lists, hence
the LISTS global, and the various related definitions such as deflist,
stdpaint etc. I felt this made the utils too complicated, and hid too
much of the underlying opengl code. In J6, there are fewer and simpler
utilities. You can still use lists, but where appropriate, rather than
always.

In the new utils, the makelist conjunction was not needed. I can add it
back if you think it worthwhile.

Tank.ijs needs some work, since its definition differs from the rest of
the demos. If you fix it up, please send me a copy.
