We'll take a look at this.
As an application gets more complicated and uses more parts of the system
the building of a standalone script becomes increasingly difficult. Avoiding
something as simple and useful as jpath in normal use seems a high price to
pay for the occasional use in standalone. Your problems with regex extend to
other tools, addons, etc.
Please take a look at the new lab Application Installer - Installation and
see if this might meet your needs beyond the more trivial examples that can
be handled with standalone.

which I think that it will not work in standalone script, because it
depends on
jpath_j_, SYSTEMFOLDERS, USERFOLDERS that project manager does not take
care of.
