As an application gets more complicated and uses more parts of the
system the building of a standalone script becomes increasingly
difficult. Avoiding something as simple and useful as jpath in normal
use seems a high price to pay for the occasional use in standalone. Your
problems with regex extend to other tools, addons, etc.
Please take a look at the new lab Application Installer - Installation
and see if this might meet your needs beyond the more trivial examples
that can be handled with standalone.
I had run the Application Installer lab, it is useful. However I prefer to use
innosetup because it offers some features that I need. I agree that very few J
users will build standalone script so that I suppose the solution is to hack the
project manager.
