The page buttons could in fact open in a new tab or window. In general this
is avoided by well behaved browser apps (or so I have read). But it can be
easily done. My pattern now is to use bookmarks. Most browsers have a way
(often ctrl+click) that will open the bookmark in a new tab.

(ctrl+jijx bookmark) vs (ctrl+t for new tab, bookmark)
