J603 - which will retain WD & COM (very very important for me) and is the logical next version for J602 users (which should cover Ambrus requirement).
Still, please keep in mind what is written on the front page of an intergalactic bestseller: DON'T PANIC. >From what I understand from Chris, they have not set anything in stone YET. Although I believe the uproar after the demo is helping ... maybe we should start a list of what, us the users think, should be retained and why for the next version. It should not be limited to this and should also include suggestions for the new features (please please add unicode support for getb() and setb() API calls) and other stuff (I leave this to more capable brains than mine). Now I go and make sure that I have a towel ... you'll never know when someone would want a bypass over our planet. ;) r/Alex ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Zsbán Ambrus [[email protected]] Sent: Monday, December 14, 2009 7:36 PM To: Beta forum Subject: Re: [Jbeta] jhsserver On Mon, Dec 14, 2009 at 11:47 AM, bill lam <[email protected]> wrote: > My understanding is that the 'frontend' does not call J engine. > Instead the J engine itself calls foreign dll/so to implement the > frontend and gui events are passed back using callback (cdcb). Okay, but how would that work in secure mode? You surely can't call arbitrary C functions in secure mode. The wd callback solves that problem in a really simple way in j601.
