MN> I'd like to test labs.
MN> (1) How do I run a lab on jconsole?
RS> I agree this could be more user (especially beginner user) friendly.
RS> Part of the problem is the fact that you are directed to go to the
RS> "jfile" window, but to get there you need to click a link named "file".
RS> There are similar problems with the "jijx" window and the "ijx" link.
(1) Really refers to the jconsole, not to any buttons/clicks/links.
Various J features are documented as lab only, that's why they are
so important. The jconsole is the *only* option to develop in and
run J in many of my environments.
RS> From the jijx window:
RS> * Click on the "file" link to open the jfile window
RS> * Click on the radio button next to "~paths"
RS> * Click on the "labs" to show the contents of the ~labs path folder
RS> * Click on the "/language/" directory to show the contents of the
RS> ~labs/language/ folder
RS> * Click on the .ijt file (lab) that you wish to run
RS> * Click on the "open" button at the top of the page
RS> * Click on the "ijx" link to return to the "jijx" window
RS> * Click on the "lab" button to start & step through the lab.
A zillion thanks! That's a great list and I'll try it as soon as
I power up the mac again.
Martin
