Jgtk already got snapshots. Open a file and choose from the menu 'script' > 'snapshots' it will list previously saved snapshots and if any difference. One can also diff using external diff tool if that already config.
One cannot normally identify these snapshot files because they are in a hidden .snp directory and file names are hashed using sha. gtkide also supports svn, but I doubt svn's branch will really work this way. Please correctly if I was wrong, I stopped using svn for some years.
