I can confirm that if the ijs div on the jijs page has focus while it is in its readonly state, then the browser shortcut keys don't work. If I click somewhere on the jijs page outside the ijs div then they do work.
I am able to successfully toggle the page from readonly to writeable & back. Win7 Firefox 3.6.10.
