Just do the install. Be happy, don't worry. This is only a practical and recurring issue during a beta phase when there are many releases. And with increasing use of pacman this is even less so than with previous betas.
The install does not touch the user folder (no install since the user folder was in invented has touched the user folder). The paranoid few (I include myself) before a final and production install always uninstall and delete all old stuff first. But this is not necessary, done by relatively few, and not worth making a big up front deal about.
