I really liked how fast the latest J7 downloaded and installed. Really lean.
How about making the initial start of J bring up the optional welcome screen display in the default browser, starting the browser if not already running? In addition to telling what the new user might want to do next, make it smarter with links or buttons to tools to install JTK, addons and help. For help, make the links in the help to go to the help files on the JSoftware site until the help files are installed locally. Kind of like wizards in other software packages. One of the install tools could be for a J6-like bundle. Looks like the J6-like wd support will still work just fine in J7 for those who might want it; however, the JTK is really coming along and new users should use it. But existing users are going to need support for quite a while as J7 non-wd is quite different. Need some time to convert but at the same time have J7 available. By the way, is x. and y. names support going to be dropped with J7 release?
