j701 beta has seemed to be in such flux that
I've not tried using it for many, many months.
   I thought I would give it another try. First
I ran pacman to update all the files. I then
copied jlib.dylib from the new j701 into my
j602 bin folder, replacing to old one. Things
seem to work fine using this new JE.
   Next, tried using the j701 front ends. On
my linux box, jhs works as far as I've tried
it.
   This evening I'm trying to get j701 up and
going on my MacBook Pro runing OS 10.6.5. As
before, putting jlib.dylib into the j602
folder is fine. In the j701 folder, jconsole
works, and I've run pacman to update all.
Reading Chris Burke's message of the 13th,
I followed the steps at
http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/System/Beta/Gtk%20on%Mac
and was able to get the Gtk front end working.
But when I've clicked on the red jhs701.app
icon, a jconsole terminal window opens with this:

/Users/jph/j701/bin/jhs.command ; exit;
[uni:~] jph% /Users/jph/j701/bin/jhs.command ; exit;
|domain error: gethostnameJ
|   0=res r=.    gethostnameJ(256#' ');256

Any ideas about what the problem might be?

                             Thanks,
                             Patrick
