smoutput I use all the time for debug/development purposes and as I see it is pretty much like in the gtk version when I use ctrl+r to execute a line and expect it to appear immediately in the term window.
I have never understood the ordinary debug nor understood how to use it. smoutput is a major feature for my purposes and I guess I am not alone. Simple things like this make all the difference for us simple folks.
