A later version of Perl than the 5.8.0 that I'm running might be a solution. However I've failed miserably in upgrading. I could not find a RPM for Red Hat 9 so I Installed Perl 5.8.7 from source. However that did not upgrade the existing 5.8.0 just created a new perl installation. The RPM installation of Slimserver still seems to be depending on the RPM 5.8.0. Trying to unistalll the 5.8.0 perl gives a lot of warnings for dependencies. Unless someone has a simple solution for updating perl on Red Hat 9 I will simply reinstall with Feodora Core 4 instead as I understand that it contains perl 5.8.6. I'll do it as soon as the download of the FC4 image is ready but that should take several hours so suggestions are welcome.
