I'm assuming that it works exactly the same as the 6.5 trunk, but when
you press "rescan" in the web interface, it launches a new process
which performs the rescan.
Is this correct? Or do I need to run the scanner process manually from
the command line instead?
That is correct in theory, but not fully implemented yet.
You need to run the scanner from the command line right now.
You also need to be running mysql.
