Add another user to the list of flakey FW29 experiences. Symptoms sound about the same - music plays for awhile, SB3 locks up at end of songs. I've never had this problem with FW28. I'm running SS 6.5b1 on an Intel iMac with OS X 10.4.4.
I started monitoring the signal strength after the first lockup and it was bouncing between 60-70% which seems plenty strong.
