It's been a while since I tried to use this plugin. A friend has just enquired about podcasts, and I was telling him how the slimserver can be used to directly play podcasts, when I realised that my server doesn't seem to work anymore.
The podcast plugin is present in the plugins folder, but the plugin is not listed in server settings -> plugins. I believe there used to be a preference section to configure rss newsfeeds for the podcast plugin. Has this moved? There's no indication that the plugin is failing to load.
