as for uninstall, the usual routine for Mac OSX does exist: Drag the icon to the trash. Pref files, caches etc exist in the proper locations, as it is for any application on OSX; that is why there is a Log and Cache folder on the system even before slimserver comes along. As for why OSX doesn't remove them when you drag an icon off, perhaps it is incomplete package management, or perhaps the plan is to allow prefs to stick around should you reinstall later, or simply a general concensus that little files added by an application are just too hard to track for the problems that they might cause. The problem on the slimserver side is that 6.5 is experimental, a fact that has been stated MANY times. That isn't to excuse the problems, but it certainly should be taken as "proceed with caution". You download it and you have to accept that there might be a problem that you'll have to spend some time on finding an answer. If you take the time to look at the bug database, you'll notice that the problems of downgrading from 6.5 to 6.3 have been noted and ARE deemed an important thing to check and work on a more fluid solution. If nothing else, it is out there for anyone to see before they think of trying 6.5.

Hopefully you will stick around to see your desire come to fruition.
