Interesting point. Incidentally, where are you reading "System
Requirements"? (I couldn't find such a page anywhere).

Perhaps I should leave this question to someone at Slim Devices that
knows better, but ...

Historically, MySQL was not "officially" supported. Slimserver 6.5
*will* support MySQL, and will ship with v5.0.18 on certain platforms.
However, I don't know if Slim Devices will "officially" support the use
of an external MySQL database instance on supported or other platforms.
