Yesterday, I spent the whole day creating a test library that I was
hoping to send to you guys. This was supposed to be 1800 cuesheets
embedded in 1800 tiny null flac files, some with embedded cover art,
comprising over 25k tracks and the whole thing would weigh in at less
than 32mbs. I was able to create the library, but unfortunately, 6.5
doesn't parse the majority of the files. I haven't really figured out
why as of yet.
I'll look at the bugs you linked and also try rolling back to previous
svns to see if I can figure out what is going on vis a vis the "no
artist, album, genre" tracks.
That was going to be my next suggestion - if you can roll back, say 500
revisions at a time, and then narrow it down, that'd be fantastic.
Browsing by genre still results in some very, very slow queries in some
of the genre in my library. In one case today, browsing into a genre
caused a query that took 182 seconds to complete and that examined over
60 MILLION rows! Since I haven't heard any other folks on the forums
complaining about this one, I don't expect to see this fixed in the
initial 6.5 release. But I do hope I can contribute to a fix in a
later release.
I've not heard of anyone complaining with that specific issue.. I seem to
recall issuing the same query on a test collection (though not as large as
yours), and it was fast query.
Are you using the shipped MySQL, or an external copy? If external, what version?
Thanks Gordon.

I'm really looking forward to this hangover.
