Philip, Socketwrapper should only be running when a file or internet radio stream is being played. In fact for many file - socketwrapper only runs for a fraction of the song duration.
The fact that you saw this "problem" message when restrating slimserver would make me think - either a stream was paused or an instance of socketwrapper process was somehow still around even though the connections to slimserver had ended.
