1. Logitech is hiring SlimServer developers - it's been mentioned before. 2. Volunteers are just that: volunteers. They can leave any day they want. They're not obliged to do anything. And still they spend a lot of their free time on a project like this. SlimDevices/Logitech is very much aware of this and therefore has always been taking care of them (us!), keeping them in good humour. BUT they can't protect the volunteers from the community's influence. Now, imagine you're volunteering and there's a guy who's complaining every day, every few hours. Would this motivate you to spend even more of your time? Can't you imagine how frustrating this guy's behaviour must be? Jim, please, have a rest. You must be one of the top 10 posters here. I can't remember a single day without your complaining. It's boring. It's frustrating. And absolutely no help. Please get involved! There are several possibilities: - start a new thread with concrete improvement proposals (and no complaining!), eg. gui designs. Remember that legendary thread when people started designing a HIFI sized Squeezebox? It didn't go unseen. - do test, report bugs (and concentrate on bug reports instead of feature requests) - learn Perl coding - patches are always welcome - hand in your resume Please don't consider this a flame. If you think my language is badly chosen - blame it to my not being I'm not a native English speaker. I'd really like you to understand why your way of commitment is rather counterproductive and frustrating for us volunteers.
