in SN, other than if I wanted to connect to SN if I didn't have a local server 
running.  Couldn't the local SqueezeCenter hold that cache?

If SN were to be unavailable for a period of time, all Live365 stations would 
be unavailable?  If so, an improvement would be for the local server to 
remember the last information retrieved from SN, so that it can present an 
older cache to keep some functionality.

I'm wondering if performance would be slower for non-US based streaming.

Will SN always be a free service?  Will SN always be able to keep up with 
demand?
