Hi, I'm also struggling with this - Win XP SP2. I uninstalled a previous version of 7.0 and cleared the registry keys indicated earlier in this thread. Then installed the 11-10 nightly (win exe file).
At the end of this I have a tray icon with the option to run automatically at login disabled. Slimserver is not running. I don't think I was asked at any time in the installation process whether I wanted it to start now, or automatically. And I haven't seen any instructions or options as to what to do if I want it to run as a service. I think us poor windows users need a bit more help....
