Ignore that - my bad. I accidentally removed the prefs folder as well as the
cache - now restored.
However, it has thrown more light on bug 5707.
When I restarted SC as a windows service with my prefs folder missing, SC
started its own instance of MySQL. When I got the wizard and worked out that I
had accidentally lost my prefs, I stopped the service and tried to delete the
cache folder and restore my prefs folder. I couldn't delete the cache folder,
as mysqld.exe still had a lock on various files in this cache folder.
I run my own MySQL service and my SC prefs point at this instance. I can see
in Windows Services, I have my MySQL Service (called "MySQL") which is stopped,
and also "SqueezeMySQL". I can see that the mysqld.exe process is running with
the following command line:
P:\Music\SLIMSE~1\trunk\server\Bin\MSWIN3~1\mysqld.exe
--defaults-file=C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\SQUEEZ~1\Cache\my.cnf SqueezeMySQL
So, it appears that if I stop SC before the wizard has been run, SC doesn't
stop the mysqld.exe process (SqueezeMySQL Service).
bug 5707 was set to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME - I think this is an issue that should
be resolved.
Phil
