Hi all, I currently run Slimserver 6.5 from the SVN 6.5 branch on Debian, using my own MySQL instance, rather than one started specifically for SlimServer.
I'm considering giving v7.0 a whirl (also from SVN) and ideally would like to keep my 6.5 installation available to go back to should I hit any issues. Can anyone please confirm what I'd need to do? I'm hoping it's as simple as taking a backup of the config file, editing my startup script to pick up the software from the new v7 directory and restarting the server. Any other gotchas I should consider? Are the database formats similar enough to be able to switch between the two running versions? In terms of plugins, the one I find invaluable is LazySearch, and also have the SQL Dynamic Playlist one, as well as AlienBBC. Do these all have functioning v7 equivalents? I'd be lost without LazySearch, but could probably live without the other two for a short while until they're fully ready if they're not already. Thanks in advance for any advice.
