Actually, in Adrian's code, you have 3 seconds to change your mind after you've initiated a shutdown/restart/hibernate. A left arrow press within that three second window should cancel the pending action. So, since you do get to change your mind, I don't think an extra confirmation step is warranted. I suppose the 3 second delay ought to be documented in the readme, though.
This plugin is really Adrian's code, not mine. I made the original mods for SC7 back in April for my own purposes, and I always assumed that Adrian would rewrite the plugin himself for SC7. But since even the link on the SlimDevices plugin webpage to Adrian's blog is broken, I don't know how involved he is at this point. I'm happy enough to make these changes, but I really don't have a place to host the plugin. Is there precedent for SlimDevices hosting any 3rd party plugins on their site? I do have my server set up to WOL, but only with a magic packet. I assume that SC only issues a magic packet on "power on, waking up SlimServer.." but I don't really know. Oops...I just checked: even though I had the windows NIC->Power Management set to "Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of standby", I also had the NIC->Advanced->Wake up on ARP/PING enabled too. Disabling that did the trick. The machine sleeps now. But, even though I have Suspend to RAM enabled in the BIOS, the machine really doesn't sleep very soundly. The CPU, power & case fans all seem to keep running full blast. But, since it works for you, I'll add the sleep mode to the plugin. I have yet to figure out how to connect the player to SqueezeNetwork. I'll see if anyone in the developer's forum will be willing to point me in the right direction. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39154 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
