Wow.... what an amazing sequence of events. Whilst I have no doubt that this worked for you - and has helped Mario with his problems, I thought I should chip in to note that this is not necessary for everyone.
My only problems with using SC7 on Mac OSx 10.5.1 have been with getting plugins to work (other threads refer). Otherwise everything seems to work fine first time. Maybe I am just lucky...
