Correct. SC7 defaults to app mode. It will install the service if it finds an 
earlier version which is configured to be run as a service.

As I said: if you can start/stop it from the tray, then it's in app mode. 
That's why you don't see a service.

In service mode the start/stop items have been removed from SqueezeTray as it 
doesn't work on Vista at all, and was leading to problems in many other cases.
