I'm trying to run the latest build of SC7 on Windows XPsp2 and have been unable to start the application. The tray icon continues to blink and says SqueezeCenter is starting. After an initial start attempt there seem to be no services related to SC that are running.
This is the first time I've tried SC7, so I have no idea if this would be a new problem. I've completely uninstalled SS6.5. I also read the earlier post regarding start problems. Firewall has the necessary exceptions, and I've disabled it to be sure it wouldn't be an issue. I've also disabled any virus checking (I'm using Avir AntiVir) without any effect. Pertinent event message is as follows: The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Can't call method "set" on an undefined value at /<C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\SQUEEZ~1.EXE>Slim/Networking/Async.pm line 121. I'm also having a terrible time using the search facility on the forum. It seems to crash with anything more than a single word in the search string.
