It's easier to have a decision left made, rather than dispute it over and over, or test optional conditions every which way at each gate. A decision has been made. A bit of respect for that would do well at this point. A lot of time is wasted having to justify everything, or rewrite a feature every few months when the happy people are made unhappy by a community-lobbied change. There are a good number of people who really need to learn to think beyond their own idea and have a bit more faith in those whose job it is to make decisions based on more than just the most recent and loudest voices.
