It's easier to have a decision left made, rather than dispute it over
and over, or test optional conditions every which way at each gate. A
decision has been made. A bit of respect for that would do well at
this point. A lot of time is wasted having to justify everything, or
rewrite a feature every few months when the happy people are made
unhappy by a community-lobbied change.

There are a good number of people who really need to learn to think
beyond their own idea and have a bit more faith in those whose job it
is to make decisions based on more than just the most recent and
loudest voices. It's easy for a community driven project to get bogged
down in debates.
