XUbuntu Feisty. I changed my sources.list to point to unstable, purged
slimserver, and installed squeezecenter. It warned that the
squeezecenter package was not verified.

Firmware upgrade went fine with no issues for 1 Squeezebox2 and 2
Squeezebox 3's; my SqueezeBoxG is capped at FW 40 of course.

The first visit to the web interface resized my browser, which is
obnoxious behavior. Firefox 2.0.0.11 on XP. Otherwise, the web
interface is really, really nice. This is the first time I've been
happy with the default interface... Fishbone is dethroned :)

There are some problems with Squeezenetwork... the wizard wanted my
login. I wouldn't be surprised if it's expired, as I never use
Squeezenetwork. Anyway, since the setup wizard insists, I tried a
couple of times to reset the password, which produced no errors and no
reset mails, just a refreshed page. So I created a new account, which
did send me an activation mail; however, the activation code is no
good. At least this was enough to make the wizard go forward, it'll be
interesting to see what breaks when the activation grace period
expires.

I've activated the Audioscrobbler plugin, should it scrobble internet
radio tracks? I'm playing Radio Paradise and nothing's going up.

I downloaded the pre-release plugins for WeatherTime, my favorite
plugin ever, and TimeSpeller, my other favorite plugin ever... I seem
to recall that service restart is required to load plugins now? Both
are working fine after restart.

The scan thread separation is a great move -- the web interface remains
very responsive during the scanning, and the speed is pretty reasonable
for an AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ with 1gb ram:

Directory Scan (17768 of 17768) Complete 00:25:41
Merge Various Artists (990 of 990) Complete 00:00:45
Artwork Scan (1023 of 1023) Complete 00:06:02
Database Optimize (0 of ) Complete 00:00:27
SqueezeCenter has finished scanning your music collection. 00:32:55

As per usual, I remembered to add my "separator for multiple items in
tags" (it's a semicolon) and change the "group discs" setting to "treat
as a single album" after the fact, so it's rescanning again.

I'm very impressed -- excellent work!
