Hi, The errant plug-in that was causing the 100% CPU spike was "DOM Inspector", which I had actually missed on my original list...
This appears to be one of Mozilla's own creations. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/inspector/ Hope that helps!! I've uninstalled it and I have no idea why it was there in the first place as I don't recall ever using it. Firefox is back to normal now. Cheers!!
