You should both register on the bugzilla site and add your comments to the bug and ask that it be reopened. This bug keeps biting more and more new customers in the butt, but it gets blown off with little more than a "it was discussed and decided that this is how it will be". If there's a good reason for this seemingly illogical behavior, then it would be nice to at least see it explained somewhere.
