There's no need to know about SBCs; create the scaled artwork images
as they are first needed, and then cache them thereafter.

That way if you don't have an SBC, you never create the SBC version.
If you have the artwork off in the web interface you don't create
those versions.  And you don't slow down the scan time.  But when you
finally break down and buy a controller, there's a little extra wait
the first time you see each image, but after that it's cached and
fast.
