I have started to embed images in each song, for songs extracted from CD
singles (don't normally bother for albums). However, that could still be a
significant number of songs to be generating cached copies of. I'm not sure
I'm fond of the pre-caching on scan change either, if it's going to adversely
affect scan time (haven't done a rescan for some time - I guess it's only a
problem for rescanning - it doesn't check all cached artwork on a "scan for new
and changed files"?)

There's also the cache size and number of files to consider. I recently did a
full virus scan (not through choice - a new firewall insisted on doing it), and
there wasn't an option to ignore the squeezecenter cache folder. It took ages
(several hours), because of the sheer number of artwork files in the cache.

Is there any cache management to recycle the oldest images, to keep the
size/number of cached files down?
