I was trying to keep anything technical out of it. Thinking further, another option is:
---------------------------------- X External Library Location User ID: able Password: baker Check "External Library Location" and supply a user ID and password if the music library is located on an external system or drive. SqueezeCenter will then run on this computer with the supplied user ID and permissions. ---------------------------------- Enable the fields only if the user wants to have a remote library. This may even be clearer to a non-technical person than my "local access only" phrase. I'm not aware of any difference between localsystem and defined user/password, from a functional point of view, other than the library access - please let me know if I'm missing something. If you wanted to get fancy the program could probably check the SC folder settings to see if there was anything that was stored remotely and default the check box accordingly. Note: someone else could certainly take a stab at a better phrase. I couldn't decide on "external", "remote", or "network" - all have their advantages and disadvantages. -- dwilliams01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dwilliams01's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10988 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43860 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
