On my system I would say there is at least a performance difference of
a factor 2 when using Firefox over Internet Explorer. Firefox is way
faster. Hovering over the menus immediatly displays the mouse over
effect while this takes about a second or so in IE. Same goes for other
navigation.

Try Firefox to see if there is a difference.
