Well, it probably could work for you. You could feasibly put a .slimignore in each of the album directories that contains your MP3s i.e. something like "c:\lossy and by artist\album\.slimignore", however, in your particular case I can't see why you'd include a link/shortcut to the MP3 directory in your "slimmusic" folder - you probably don't want SC indexing your MP3s when you've got FLACs/whatever of all the music anyway.
