It might be a red herring, but I had what looked like this problem and think I resolved it.
When I looked into it there seemed to be two sets of preferences saved for that plugin in the preferences file. I deleted all of the preferences from that file (ie deleted the lines) and set it up again and after that it worked fine. I'm not sure when exactly the problem was introduced for me, but it was a few weeks ago. At the time I put it down to me swapping between SC7 versions and the preference changes that were going on.
