Yes, foobar2000 can be confusing. But it is great at many things, and
this is one of them.
I took a look at the EAC report you posted. I don't know why you are
getting those errors. EAC isn't really the best tool to do this
anyway.
Here is what you need to with foobar2000:
- Click file->preferences. This will bring up the preferences dialog.
- highlight Converter under Tools. On the top you will see "Output
File Names". Under there, you will see "Single Tracks".
- Copy and past the following line into "single tracks":
%genre%\%artist%\'('%date%')'%album%\%tracknumber% %title%
This will split the tracks in a subdirectory implied by the names of
the fields.
- click the "save all" button.
- In the main window, drag the cue sheet of a flac file you'd like to
split. You will see each individual track listed.
- Select all of the tracks (select the first one and then do
control-"A").
- Right click on one of the selected tracks. On the menu that pops up,
click "convert->convert to..".
- In the dialog, specify FLAC as the encoder. Click OK
- Select the root directory you want all of your music to go to.
- click OK.
The conversion will run and your files will be in the appropriate
subdirectory. If you want to modify the naming structure, play with
the string you pasted into the converter dialog. Once you get it the
way you like, you can drag all of your cue sheets into foobar2000 at
once and do one big conversion. You can do this by using windows to
search for all files with a .cue extension and dragging them into
foobar2k.
It may seem complicated, but it really isn't. Once you go through the
procedure, it should be clear.
Hope it works for you. Let me know if you have any trouble.
BTW - I think it is best to have your files in separate tracks. Yes
there are apps out there that will support the cue file convention, but
it isn't the norm as you found out with the squeezebox.
