This looks like a great tool that I'll keep in my back pocket.  I'm
sure it will help many people.  I'd still like to see the ability for
using the URL instead of IP.  I filed a feature request bug to ask for
this.  The VPN solution, while offering other benefits which makes it
tempting, is opening a much bigger potential security hole.  Opening
the port to the slimserver means someone can listen to my music and
control my music.  The slimserver user has no rights to execute or
read/write any other data than that.  Opening a VPN, if there is any
security breach of the service, opens my full network.

The workaround is to ping the URL before connecting to see what the
current IP address is, and then use that in SqueezePlay.  I'd like to
skip that step.
