Good thoughts! > 1. Where exactly in the Web UI will I see when updates are available?
It's not there yet, but it would be in the "status bar" at the bottom. I'm concentrating on OS integration, as users should be notified even without opening the web UI. > 2. Will I also see when an update download is in "progress"? > 3. I looked at the Advanced Settings -> Software Update page, but did > not see a way to "manually" check and download the updates if the > automatic option is disable. > 4. How about some instructions on that page on how to install and where > to find the update? I like those ideas. But then the initial plan of this feature was to just have everything done with as little user intervention as possible. As I said I'm currently concentrating on tighter integration with Windows and OSX. This doesn't mean the above can't be done. Please file an enhancement request for the above so they don't go lost. I'm not sure this feature will help you a lot: the released SC will _not_ check for nightlies, but only for official releases. Eg. an officially released v7.4 would only download an officially released 7.4.x, but _not_ the nightly 7.4.1.
