Not sure it would be absolutely necessary since the Add next function is not very far from that. What I do is I use Add Next and then stop at the end of the selection or manually delete the end of my first playlist.
But it would still be useful in some cases and wouldn't add clutter : You'd just need to hold "play" the same way you hold "add", so that would be a very consistent behavior.
