Hi, My installation of SqueezeCenter has developed a case of "can't resolve IP address" when trying to access the Internet or external radio streams. Was there a change in Version: 7.3.3 - 26709 @ Sat May 23 03:06:53 PDT 2009 that might be related? It used to work fine.
I am running SqueezeCenter on a headless box running Fedora 2.6.27.21-170.2.56.fc10.i686 (SMP). The box has wired ethernet and a wireless mini pci card; both are enabled with their own fixed local IPs. But I end up using wireless only because I can put the box anywhere with just a power connection. With the ethernet cable disconnected, the box gets one fixed IP and connects to my router via wifi. This worked fine until I updated to 7.3.3 - 26709 (and at the same time did a yum update that updated some Fedora stuff). Now with 7.3.3 - 26709, I can play local music files via my SB3. However, I can no longer play Internet radio; SC log has error messages about being unable to resolve IPs of radioIO.com and other Internet names. I did some trouble shooting: With just the wifi connection, if I go to the command line and traceroute, ping, nslookup, Fedora seems to still be able to connect correctly to the internet and resolve IPs. However, SqueezeCenter can't resolve those same IP addresses. If I reconnect the ethernet cable, everything works fine. All local and Internet music plays, SqueezeCenter is happy - via the other fixed IP assigned to the box. Of special note, If I reboot the box (wifi only), wait a minute, and then restart SqueezeCenter from the command line, "service squeezecenter restart" - NOW SqueezeCenter can resolve IPs via wifi and internet music can be played from my SB3. (What did restarting SqueezeCenter do? When does SqueezeCenter bind its IP?) Any suggestions?
