It's funny because a few milliseconds between rooms never bothered me
before and doesn't now but it's really impressive when you hear it
absolutely bang on...a feeling of quality I guess.

Having used both systems I think the main reason to go for Sonos would
be the user friendly interface.  I think the controller interface is
somewhat over complicated, maybe because it is so highly configurable. 
There just seems to be so many clicks to do small things.  I think A way
forward is to allow for creation of shortcuts which trigger user created
scripts/macros of things to do...

Sync living room with Kitchen(friendly name: SyncLR2K):
Turns on Living room receiver
Turns on Amp in LR using X10 plugin
Syncs LR to Kitchen

One click, 3 things.  Simple.
Possible plugin idea maybe.
