Got the same type of error here. -Also tried retagging without success. There's nothing particular in the files that fail in terms of character. -Then I thought it had something to do with the ownership of the files/folders that failed. Changed ownership to ADMINISTRATORS (btw running Vista) as for many of the succesfully scanned folders. No success. The files it concerns are MP3s I ripped myself from my CD collection in a specific period. I think they use a high quality VBR setting in LAME (not sure if this is / can be related).
