This has been discussed and answered many times by Logitech people.
One particularly potent reason, in my opinion: If you've been
following the forums over the last year you've probably seen a great
many support requests from people who had their virus scanner
interfere with the MySQL temporary files on Windows. The move to
SQLite will remove this issue, along with any issues related to
starting and keeping a database server running because SQLite is an
embedded database.
