Well, sry to contradict You but I still think the scanner needs urgent
improvement concering changing and removing tag-data.
An old id 3 tag stays in Your database "foever" or at least till the
next complete re-scan which takes 4 or 5 times the time of an update
scan
Example:
I had a song in my database with artist tag "Robbie Williams + Kylie
Minogue". Now I change this to "Robbie Williams; Kylie Minogue" (";"
defined as my separator).
The scanner recognizes the scan but he doesn't really update. From now
on the song is credited to "Robbie Williams + Kylie Minogue; Robbie
Williams; Kylie Minogie" - and furtheron "Robbie Williams + Kylie
Minogue" is listed as an artist in the library... (same with misspelled
artists, I told before). I filed a bug "while it was SQLlite" (# 12842)
so it was removed to 8.0 to be thought as "an SQLite problem" - but the
same problem exists in the current MySQL-nightlies so I think it should
be rather solved in 7.4
