I am sure, the 7.4 software was not written to fit the controller. Just to make things easier to maintain code and use it on all new devices. So there may be an advantage - only one code for several devices. But this doesnt work well, especially for the UI... So why do there have to be icons on that tiny controller screen?! I hope they will implement options to enable or disable - for example the icons. Really no need on the controller for them.
