Looking at the ReadyNAS addon scripts code, I found what could be another reason for ReadyNAS users to complain:
SBS 7.4 ReadyNAS builds are - at install time - not smart enough to migrate older existing SqueezeCenter server/plugins prefs to SBS. When upgrading from 7.3 to 7.4, ReadyNAS users have a first (good) reason to complain, because they'll have to set the whole thing up again. However, it looks like - due to the remove.sh script bundled with the addon - that current SBS 7.4 ReadyNAS builds are - at upgrade time - stupid enough to overwrite the existing SBS server/plugins prefs with the older SqueezeCenter's one, if found (before removing SC from the system for good). If ever the ReadyNAS user changed his/her mind on the way the server and plugins had to work with 7.4, they'll have to set the whole thing up once again. Since it's really easy to correct, I'll try to provide a patch for this... -- sebp System : Mac Mini for ripping to FLAC (XLD) > Squeezebox Server 7.4 running on a ReadyNAS NV+ Living room : Transporter > NuForce IA-7 v2 > KEF iQ9 Bedroom : Squeezebox 3 > Beresford DAC > NAD C315BEE > KEF iQ3 Kitchen : SB Receiver > Trends Audio TA10.1 > Celestion F10 Bathroom : SB Boom 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/sebp) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sebp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11768 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69534 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
